Will 🏳️‍🌈I recently had to complete an online PAI (Personality Assessment Inventory) for an upcoming neuropsych evaluation. In it, you have to indicate how true/false statements are for you.One of the statements I had to rate was "My drinking does not impact my relationship with friends and family." I had to mark True on that. I'm sure someone is gleefully rubbing their hands saying "ah, he is inconsistent!" based on other questions related to drinking and drug usage.But the truth is, I don't drink at all, and there's no way to indicate that. But I keep showing up, one day at a time.My health has declined since the first COVID infection in 2022, but even with these symptoms, it's a world of difference being sober. My liver and kidneys aren't constantly filtering poison from my body, and after 17 years of time off, maybe they're doing pretty great.
