The #DWP has awarded a lucrative contract to a private consultancy giant, Deloitte. Remember them, they made a lot of money out of PPE Contracts and then went on to screw up track and trace, this time, they have been charged with investigating alleged benefit overpayments and fraud. This £15m deal is a microcosm of everything wrong with the g'ment's approach to welfare. It prioritises cost-cutting over compassion. It assumes guilt over need. & it believes technology can solve systemic poverty.

Whilst reading this Canary article about the UK Labour-In-Name-Only Party’s utterly unconscionable “Welfare” Bill, it occurred to me that, if #Starmer et al can *directly participate* in an ongoing #genocide against mostly women & children in #Gaza, it’s highly unlikely they’ll have any qualms about potentially killing large numbers of disabled people!

#dwp #pip I swear I'm going mad. The government keeps saying they're trying to cut PIP to help people into work. Newspapers are taking that argument at face value and writing from that perspective; cutting pip pushes disabled people into work.

I do not appreciate spam SMS that contains not only my number, but 7 others. They didn't consent to the other people in the message getting it, and I certainly didn't.
This is fake #DWP spam no less.

More and more cases are going to be getting publicity (like the Horizon scandal) as more and more carers realise that the DWP is harassing carers across the country - they likely no longer feel so isolated by the clawback demands.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again; the DWP needs to be stopped, and carers been to be valued not treated as fraudsters & criminals - the DWP must be changed & that change must be comprehensive - top to bottom!

The scammers are getting in quickly

I received this today. Now I have been listed as a carer for my partner (although I did not get any benefits while in the role, not needing that sort of support), so this might have been genuine - the url and the deadlines (even by DWP standards) were a bit of a giveaway and I suspect this was a random chancer text message.

So, one part of the DWP advises a young carer to join the Kickstart scheme because it wouldn't affect her carers' allowance, only subsequently got be subjected to a clawback of benefits due to the allowance paid on the scheme.

The inhumanity towards carers reaches a new low - suckering them into the very situation that exposes them to DWP's callous approach to accidental over-payment.

The DWP must be held to account for this sh*tshow!
