Just so you know, #Marriott hotels have a contract with #DHS and are housing ICE Agents in their hotels. Extra offensive in Pasadena/Altadena, where people are still recovering from losing their homes in the #EatonFire.

We ran ICE out of Pasadena, and Glendale canceled all contracts with DHS and ICE. If you’d like to apply pressure, but you feel out of reach, call up Marriott hotels and apply pressure regarding their housing of ICE agents.

ICE was forced to leave their hotel in the middle of the night after activists located where ICE was staying and surrounded the hotel with a noise demonstration. Hundreds of drivers joined in by blasting their horns as they drove by. Hotel management asked ICE to leave."

For those asking:
•I am very safe, I am not going outside. Black women/people, stand DOWN.
•Los Angeles is also very safe.
•Again, do not let them fool you. These are not “riots.” These are both LA and SD communities and citizens keeping themselves safe from illegal ICE kidnappings.
•LA natives, especially Pasa/Altadena people, are not scared or worried by the threat of National Guard troops. Please note that we have had the consistent presence of National Guard since the #EatonFire for safety.

I drove through Altadena over the weekend, which was my first time there since the #EatonFire. It's hard to describe the experience in a few words. I never lived there, but I have visited often, both to see a friend who lived there and just passing through on long walks.
I expected to feel sad for the destruction of places I knew, especially my friend's house, and I did feel that way. Mostly, though, I felt *disoriented*. /1

Out of the 120+ lots that are coming up across Altadena after the #eatonfire, 90 have been purchased by commercial developers. Most on the Westside, historically Black section (Jackie Robinson, Octavia Butler) of town.

Still holding out for people who may or may not been paid out by their insurance.

It’s starting to feel deliberate.

Good Morning from #Pasadena. Resumed our walks in #Altadena this week. Our first walk was great; where we went there had been virtually no damage. But that wasn't the case of our latest walk.

This area was a beautiful neighborhood full of amazing old houses and trees. At least 1/2 of those old houses seem to be gone, at first sight. But it's hard to tell with so many trucks everywhere.

Not feasible driving around for a look and I stay on the beaten track away from trucks and bulldozers to avoid too much toxic dust, especially with Moses.

..."At 10:50 p.m., a caller spots a flaming roof on East Calaveras Street — the first sign that flying embers may be threatening west Altadena neighborhoods.

Fifty minutes later, dispatchers are told that the house across the street is on fire. No evacuation order follows.
