The next animal in my backyard menagerie is not pictured because you can hear them
Right now
No matter where you are or what you're doing
There are 3 hen houses with at least that many roosters and before this was fine as they greeted the sun as one does
but ever since the time change one rooster right across the street WON'T SHUT UP
He is confused about what time it is and so as to not forget the whole reason he lives crows ALL THE TIME
No matter the time...
"More than 12,000 Bottles of a Duloxetine Have Been Recalled Nationwide"
There. I fixed it for you. The original was:
"More than 12,000 Bottles of a Popular Antidepressant Have Been Recalled Nationwide"

"Good copyediting, like writing, takes time because you need to think and not curate like AI, which also doesn't understand nuance well because it's curating the data."
Copywriters, editors, and web designers are making bank fixing problems caused by LLMs.
If you see something written with en-dashes and em-dashes, you know it involved artificial intelligences competent writers and editors.

Looking for a human translator to convey your human words to a human audience? Maybe that's me!
I translate from Swedish, French, Norwegian and Danish into English (mainly UK but US possible depending on the text - I also work with a USian translator as a team where required). I'm a full Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting for both Swedish and French.
I'm also an Intermediate Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading – in other words, I offer proofreading/editing/copyediting services too.
Oh, and copywriting!
I work on everything from press releases through sustainability reports to novels. Particularly fond of archaeology/history (got to get use from my MA somehow) and personal development, but really I'm interested in almost everything and translation allows me to be a nerd about all kinds of things.
The subjects I *don't* do are legal, financial and medical.

I’m always amazed how many editors do not know how to use “due to”.
I don’t mean that they violate the stodgy rule that it is incorrect to say “I delayed due to traffic”. They know this “rule” and then hyper-correct it, unnecessarily changing it.
“There was a delay due to traffic” (correct) becomes:
“There was a delay caused by traffic”
“There was a delay owing to traffic”
“There was a delay because of traffic”
Please stahp
“jejunojejunal bypass” <— i think i might have just run across the word with the most j’s
I don't have any pictures because the bastards are fast the next animals in our yard are:
3 birds
A male and female Cardinal and a smaller light brown/yellow colored bird (Idk what kind)
Basically these birds are so nasty the squirrels fear them!
They will dive bomb them on the ground, in the air and on the TREE!
I always know when they are around because the squirrels get so frightened they will only get a couple of inches off ground but won't go up or down!

Lemme know what you think!
Here's a strange one:
After a friendly exchange with a former client (I'm a freelance copy-editor and proofreader), I visited their website and found that they now also copy-edit and proofread and are *using my writing, from my website, as their own, on their website*.
Entire sentences and paragraphs are identical. It's been like this for years. And this from someone I helped earn a doctorate.
What to do?
