Submitted a draft of my contribution to an an upcoming Gemma Files tribute anthology centered on her book "Experimental Film".
"Vintage Reality" is a 6k-word story on what happens to a VR developer when he starts to pull the Victorian-era stereoscope (and all that stereograph content) into the Metaverse.
The story came together pretty quickly, and I'm pretty proud of it. Waiting for feedback from the editors.
The people at Chute Film Coop were kind enough to give me the space, and the opportunity, to write a long piece on Yamazaki Hiroshi, Heliography, Ātman, Magino Village....
I just scratched the surface, Yamazaki's films definitely deserve a longer treatment

Continuing to work my way through the Anthology Film Archives Essential Cinema Repertory film list. I come to the infamous and inimitable Kenneth Anger and take at look at his first film, FIREWORKS, made in 1947.
It's difficult to find a decent copy online.
