So many grapes in today's produce rescue. I have juiced a bunch. Some of the leftover pulp went into a fruit salad. Other pulp I'll use in a fruit leather experiment. Also have a couple trays in the oven in a raisin experiment. It's a chance to try some ideas from Put 'Em Up by Sherri Brooks Vinton.

I was going to use a bottle of red wine to dye eggs tomorrow, but now I'm thinking of just trying grape juice with vinegar.

A Bunch Of Grapes

There is certainly a joy living near one of the most famous wine growing areas in the world. A trip to the vineyards is certainly one of them.
There are a number of wineries where my wife and feel like home at. I have got to know a number of wine makers over the years and have been given the opportunity to photograph a few vineyards unfettered.

A Bunch of Grapes Like the title states, this image is a capture of a bunch of grapes hanging from the grapevine. This is a closeup of the grape bunch. The grapes are ripe and real close to being ready to pick. The color of the grapes are a deep rich blue, almost purple. The bunch is tight, the grapes look very healthy. They are hanging on the vine, connected by a small branch. The green leaves of the vine frame the grapes in nice green hue. Below the grapes, framing the bottom of the image is a large older branch from the vine.

Grapes On The Vine

Living within a stones throw from California's famous Napa valley certainly is nice. Right around harvest time the vines start changing color as most broad leaf trees do at this time of year.
This image was taken with a technique known as shoot through. This allowed me to frame the bundle of grapes with the green leaf from the vine. The leaf is out of focus but recognizable.

Grapes On The Vine This is an image of a bunch of grapes growing on a grapevine in the beautiful Napa Valley. This is a closeup of the bunch of grapes. The grapes are a deep blueish/purple color and ready for harvest. The bunch is thick and very healthy looking. Framing the bunch of grapes are leaves from the grapevine. The leaf on the right is right near the lens as I am using the shoot through process. The camera focusses on the grapes but leaves the leaf out of focus so as not to distract the eye. The leaves in the background are also out of focus for the same reason.

Do you like green seedless grapes? They are my favorite, especially those from California, which have an unmatched flavor. When I was a teenager, I lived in a small central California town surrounded by agriculture. The area was filled with peach orchards and vineyards, as well as other crops like walnuts. Crisscrossed with canals, we would explore the canal banks. On hot summer days, there was a spot we called “the falls” where we would go swimming next to a vineyard. We often grabbed bunches of grapes off the vine and savored them while sitting on the canal bank. Hmmm ... that seems lake two lifetimes ago.

You've likely heard me speak of my dog Charlie, from time to time. Her he is during a morning walk. Charlie's face is mostly white with a black spot atop his head and a larger black spot that surround his left eye and ear. "Charlie is an absolute charmer! The image shows Charlie, a black and white border collie, confidently walking towards the camera through a grassy area with some dry vegetation. Charlie's distinctive coat includes a black patch over one eye and a white face, making him look adorably unique. His ears are perked up, and his tongue is slightly out, giving off a playful vibe. His tail, with its white tip, is raised, showing his excitement. The background is slightly blurred, which draws all the attention to Charlie.
