Sheldon<p>A few weeks ago I got to see the great Howard Levy play in a small venue in Oakland. For those who aren't familiar, he's a living legend of harmonica and an amazing pianist as well. Holy shit the man did not disappoint!</p><p>I haven't been playing my harps in some years and lately it's been on my mind to start again so my eyes popped out when I saw that Howard Levy was playing a small quirky venue near me that I had never been to.</p><p>It was Piedmont Piano, a piano showroom that moonlights as an occasional performance venue. It was a fantastic place to have my first Howard Levy experience.</p><p>He was selling his instruction books so naturally I had to buy all of them. I asked him to sign one of them and was impressed with how attentive he was with everyone who approached him. You could tell he loves teaching music because he kept having to stop himself from launching into an impromptu seminar. It was wonderful to witness.</p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/harmonica" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>harmonica</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/oakland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>oakland</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/concert" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>concert</span></a></p>

[:babaKatt:] Fanged Menace :ironFront::enbyCrossbow::sparkles2:<p>By popular demand, here's one of the latest harmonica projects I'm working on :dragnUwU: </p><p>I bought this old vintage tremolo harmonica for 50 kroners (5€). However I've gotten more comfortable with my skills as a harpsmith, and this shouldn't be too hard to fix, right? Also 50 kroners for a harmonica is bargain :dragnGoogly: </p><p>Got quite the suprise when I opened it up, I've never seen this kind of corrosion before on reed plates.<br><br>Normally brass will never corrode, unless it's kept in an really bad environment, so wherever this harmonica was stored it was not happy to say the least :dragnSweats:</p><p><a href="https://twoot.site/tags/harmonica" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>harmonica</span></a> <a href="https://twoot.site/tags/munspill" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>munspill</span></a> <a href="https://twoot.site/tags/munspel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>munspel</span></a> <a href="https://twoot.site/tags/mundharmonika" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mundharmonika</span></a> <a href="https://twoot.site/tags/repair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>repair</span></a> <a href="https://twoot.site/tags/KattWorkshop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KattWorkshop</span></a></p>
