By no means everybody’s favourite spring crop, I know, but they are striking after a grey winter, they smell good, & the pollinators love them – there were bees buzzing all over this field.

As seen on a warm-ish 62km ride to Weinheim & back.

The peak of solar maximum is behind us now, but the Sun is still putting on a decent show of sunspots

Here’s the current status, images by projecting through my binoculars on to some white paper & then photographing with my iPhone

From top right (east) to bottom left (west), we have Active Regions 4055 & 4058, then 4056, 4061, & 4060.

Big drop in temperature today, as a cold front swept in from the north – about 10°C colder than yesterday, but still sunny.

If anything, better for my 58km ride to the edge of Mannheim & back, as I haven’t switched to summer gear yet

Another for #MonochromeMonday, with color comparison. This is Anna Lapwood standing beside the pipe organ at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in NYC. I’d wanted to see her in concert since discovering videos of her playing the organ at the Royal Albert Hall, and she did not disappoint. A big-hearted artist with sublime and thunderous music at her fingertips (and toes). See her if you can!
