Hey #indieweb - looking for recommendations for static #hosting. Optimally I'd like to pay a couple of bucks a month (<$8? <$5?) to host < 1 GB of static files - it's normally very low transfer, though with scrapers these days who knows. I don't really need any scripting or email or anything fancy, just a place to scp files to. I want both the company and the servers to be based in Canada or friendly countries. Smaller companies welcome. What do you use and like?
We’re excited to announce that, from Monday, we’re going to be the new admins of IndieWeb.social!
We’ve always loved how @tchambers has run IndieWeb.social. His direction has made it one of the best instances on the Fediverse!
Thanks to Tim for his trust in us to provide a safe and secure home for the server into the future.

Scrolls volume NINE is out! As usual, it features some of my favorite #IndieWeb, #Fediverse & #Infosec / #Cybersecurity stories from the past week.

Thanks to everyone who has made my own feed-scrolling from the last week so interesting and enjoyable! What you've created and shared has made its way into this week's issue!

It's been a few years since I built my website using Jekyll. It's starting to get stale. I learned a lot about IndieWeb while setting up, so I don't regret using it!
But the overhead of the build is starting to get to me. Longing for something that I perceive as simpler - paid services like micro.blog or omg.lol - or maybe 11ty. Not sure I can give up control to a paid service for my main site.

I tried to summarize some of my Recurse Center activities for the last 12 weeks in a blog post and still probably forgot some stuff because it was jam packed with amazing people, pairing, projects, and study groups.
tl;dr - I did lots of stuff, really enjoyed my time, and plan to continue learning and growing
I added an OPML file of my blogroll, and I talk about some really cool ideas from around the IndieWeb for using blogrolls as social web infrastructure:

Well there's a thing, just looking at stats and it turns out today is the 100th video posted to my PeerTube. That's a milestone of sorts. One day I'll get the PC2.0. worked out!

Thursday there'll be the next #IndieWeb #FrontEnd Study Hall (Number 024!) where we have lively conversations investigating, troubleshooting, upgrading, fixing, and learning HTML and CSS and related stuff. https://events.indieweb.org/2025/03/front-end-study-hall-024-j8dtucnWT7Iz
