Can anyone recommend a Mastodon instance that prohibits or limits the use of AI?
I've been browsing the server directory and most don't even mention AI.
Does the fediverse have no will to fight AI slop or what?

If you have a lot of #data in your #instance #database, running pnpm run migrate might fail because one or more of the ALTER TABLE... statements might actually timeout on your #PostgreSQL server!
To fix this, attach yourself to your sharkey database and enter the following...
ALTER DATABASE sharkey SET statement_timeout = '10min';

After attending #PubConf2025 yesterday, I chatted with a friend that expressed wanting to get of Instagram.
They have been intrigued by me saying, that #Mastodon always has been a pretty #queer space.
Now I’m looking for the right #instance to recommend. But the choices are overwhelming.
Where would a queer, #feminist, intellectual, English language #writer, #educator in arts, secular Jewish, pro Palestinian, gen-X person feel at home?

Box address in Denver, Colorado, #USA ,and provides no online information about who's behind it. Clearly, this is a #AI-powered #bot polluting the #fediverse .

Not new to the Fediverse, but always kinda planned on joining mastodon.radio once I got my license, which is now!

So ... I got an email alert from not my last instance, but the instance before that, saying I had a new follower.
I also had a notification that that same account had followed me on this instance. Not sure what that's all about.
I thought this account was already following me, but perhaps they changed their instance, which is why I got the sudden re-follow idk. Or maybe they weren't following me at all until now.
Maybe they've only just accepted my follow request from an instance I was on a couple of years ago.
It's all a bit Twilight Zone.
I realise also this post has the word 'instance' in it a lot.

LOR.SH - IS SHUTTING DOWN SOON
As has already been stated in announcements, this will happen in a couple of months.
Because of this, I've noticed more than once that everyone is creating threads like "where do we go now."
Since I have a pretty decent outreach, I propose creating the ultimate "where do we go now" thread.
In it, I suggest:
Discussing what to do next and why there's no need to panic Where you can register a new account How you can "migrate" to a new account Discussing hosting your own personal server If possible, bringing up any questions not yet addressed in this thread that may be bothering you
I also suggest using the hashtag #LorshMigration for anyone who wants to talk about this now or find each other after the server shuts down, in case something goes wrong. I'm already following it and posting under it with my thoughts on the move or sharing useful info.
If you'd like, you can participate in a subthread for a "census" of people who've moved, stating where you moved from and where to.
Please remember that this thread is not communication with support staff, but just a chat with people who decided to help out on their own initiative.

To me it appears to be fully #AIgenerated news #content and a mastodon #server with 75 accounts dedicated to distributing links to the content with country and topic specific #hashtags.
So far, so normal in 2025, I guess. But I'm a bit distrustful of content creators that do not provide any information whatsoever about what kind of organisation or individuals are behind it, escpecially for news or political content.
