"One Very Focused Hawk" by Debra Martz
Seen in northern Oklahoma along the side of a highway. Stopped and watched for a short time and it never moved so it might have had its eye on some prey. Thankful for the photo opportunity and we rolled on down the road leaving it to do its "work"

“Eight Minutes”

…is the time difference between these two shots (more formally Skyline 29d and Skyline 30).

Most of the sky was covered with a uniform blanket of high stratus cloud, with a sharply delineated front towards the eastern horizon. One moment, the entire underside was lit up a blazing orange by the rising sun. A few minutes later, all that remained was a blinding line of light marking the edge of the front, the rest of the cloud no longer lit from below.

Both were spectacular, but startlingly different.

I came up with this when I was learning Vray for a job. I'm learning Unreal Engine 5 right now, so this is relevant again. And it will be relevant again many times in the future. Such is the life of a #vfx #artist
