Winter has not been in NYC for the solstice since COVID (Neither Winter) Both are alive and well in New England.

Winters' spirit has arrived in New York, too. In the form of snow, if not his presence this year @ St. John the Divine.

Light- mostly very light- snow all day, but even though it was below freezing all day, the snow was not collecting much (it was warm yesterday, so the soil was probably still holding some warmth).
Tarps, some leaves, bare earth that froze lightly etc were holding a dusting of snow-- these tarps covering wood held this much in late afternoon... Rest of the week should be sunny, above freezing days, well below at night. #Alberta #snow #FotoMontag #ShareYourWeather #otoño #invierno

Two blue plastic tarps overlap meeting almost in the centre of the image, diagonally from lower left to upper right. The one to the rear is darker, the one to right foreground is bright blue. Both have a light dusting of snow following creases and folds in the tarps, along with scattered dry spruce needles and some golden aspen leaves. Thin dark twigs which are part of a large birch branch holding down the tarp cross from right to left.

Para quienes no seáis de #Extremadura, probablemente no os suene, pero la fiesta del #Jarramplas en #Piornal está declarada como #FiestaDeInterésTurísticoNacional.
Consiste en una persona disfrazada de demonio que va con el tamboril recorriendo las calles mientras los vecinos le tiran verduras (nabos) ya que la consideran un ladrón de ganado.
Se cree que es una fiesta de origen pagano relacionada con el #solsticio de #invierno.
