After my request for help learning Cantonese, I've got stuck into Mango Languages. I don't think it will still be free for me after 2 weeks but it's a good length for a trial.
My next question is, how does one go about practising tones? Is it mainly listening and recognising the tones that will later help me with speaking?
I'm expecting it to take a long time but that's what I love about learning new things.

I know many people who are fully bi, tri or multilingual, and I often feel embarrassed about my own language competence because I'm not.
But I strongly feel that focusing on C2 competence misses the point.
There is always value in learning another language, no matter what proficiency you actually attain. Only seeing C1/C2 as "worth it" is like saying only ultra-runners are runners.
