Nikki McDonald won by 1.2%, or 148 votes.

McDonald (D) received 50.6%, and Kurtis Ruf (R) received 49.4%.

McDonald represents Dist. 49, located in Johnson County, in the Kansas House.

Zito narrowly lost her race in 2022.
