stage 2 - ðe story of a great champion winning said war with ðe help of ðe gods
stage 3 - a jrpg where you kill god
stage 4 - a "litrpg" about a looser like you getting "isekai'd" & using rpg mechanics in a fantasy themepark world to be chad
stage 5 - an AI dungeon master lets you be protagonist-kun in said isekai & talk to your AI harem- I mean party ^^
stage 6 - ???

So I started the LitRPG System Universe today, and I finally get a main character with magic. And cool void skills. Something new from axes and swords and stuff.

I enjoy trying new books and the #Litrpg genre regularly sucks me in.

But can I really take a book seriously if it's written by someone going by the nom de plume Kamikaze Potato?

In case anyone was wondering what I've been doing the past few months, well, I tried the litrpg genre for the first time back in January. Then poof, 3 months had past. Here are some tips if anyone's interested, with highlights curated for fedi:

Wolf of the Blood Moon by Shane Purdy

Wolfgirl. Only first book in audio, more on the way. MC seems aro/ace, possibly autistic?

Fallen Lands by C Peinhopf

Foxgirl/kitsune. MC is a teenager, very little romance, no sexy stuff.

Talyn's Saga by Benjamin Medrano

Succubus. Poly-lesbian. Mostly off-screen or fade-to-black sexy stuff, despite being kinda horny.

Beneath the Dragoneye Moons by Selkie Myth

Healer who made an unbreakable oath to "do no harm" essentially when she was 8, in a very violent world (with dinosaurs!) I think she's revealed to be gay in later books. (She's like 8-15 in the first couple of books.)

It's been something like six months since my last #introduction so I thought it would be a good time to post an update!

I work in #manufacturing - as in I'm a drone in a factory. I'm still coming down from #Halloween, though recent #USPolitics have had a sobering effect (to say the least). Huge fan of #books, #VideoGames, #music, and, as of this year, #movies. Lately, I've been reading a crapload of #LitRPG. I take my #LittleFreeLibrary way more seriously than I should. Recently, I've been #writing more and I'm kind-of-sort-of participating in #WritingMonth (or #NaNoWriMo if ya nasty). I've got #fantasy, #SciFi, and #horror projects in the works. I'm into #PCGaming and I love my #SteamDeck to death.

I've been spending too much time on Royal Road lately. As much as I dislike Amazon, Kindle Unlimited is how the authors writing the things I want to read make a living. Well, "living" might be overstating it a bit. Never-the-less, I can't afford to subscribe to fifty Patreons, and at least someone, somewhere, gets something if I read on KU. Problem is that Royal Road is way better at pushing me books I enjoy than Amazon/Goodreads are, and literally none of the openweb book sites (bookworm, etc.) seem to have any #litrpg readers at all. So anyone wanna sell me on something on #KindleUnlimitted? Right now, I'm looking for #cozy #litrpg or #ProgressionFantasy, #HaremLit and smut are okay as long as there's also plot, #PowerFantasy only if the main character is a sweetheart, and I have a slight preference for #Isekai or #PortalFantasy, or fun offbeat main characters. I'm in the mood for something that vaguely matches the vibes of stuff like Terminate the Other World! by Icalos, Courier Quest by Flossindune, This Used To Be About Dungeons by Alexander Wales, or Beesong Chronicles by Benjamin Medrano. Please don't recommend anything by Logan Jacobs or Eric Vall; they always sound okay, but end up disappointing me. Kindle Unlimited isn't a hard requirement, I'll buy a book if it matches the above vibes and isn't on KU.

I've Finished: The first book of the Chrysalis 3 book bundle by RinoZ

The Antventure Begins

I don't usually read books based on progression games.

I found Chrysalis repetitive but entertaining.

It was recommended by @futurebird, an Ant enthusiast that assured me the Ant facts in it are correct.

I guess it is based on a single player type game so no party with multiple characters. Antony does gain a pet monster, but mistreats it quite a bit.

He also often declares that the colony is above all, but acts selfishly to advance his own stills.

There is allot of combat action with thought given to melee tactics, but not much thought to what type of skill or attack is more effective against a particular monster. There are time that it is clear that magical attacks are more effective as Antony continues to try and power bite through almost impenetrable hide.

I did enjoy it as a popcorn read.

Note that the book ends in the middle of a major event, so getting the 3 book bundle may be a good idea.
