First and foremost, I got #married! My husband is so wonderful, and I’m so happy to be with him. He’s not kinky at all, but he’s totally fine with me playing with other people and exploring my fetishes with them. The #wedding was such an amazing experience, filled to the brim with beauty, song, fun, and people that we both love. After the wedding, my husband decided to give up his separate apartment, so we are now officially living together, which has been so nice!

Toofab · These Stars Are Dating Olympic AthletesBy Toofab Staff

Just #married yesterday, and I never thought it would change much, except saying "wife" instead of "girlfriend", when talking about my significant other. But something did click and I realized/internalized a few things.

I don't really crave for a remarkable life, all I want, like everyone, is a happy and peaceful life. I don't need to leave a legacy for the world or be special for anyone, except the few people I love, and who love me.

Why did it take 31 years to understand such a simple thing?

I'm trying to sign up for men's #cooking #lessons here in #Japan to placate my busy #Japanese wife. While she was away, I made this cheese omelette; beginner's luck! A #community center has me on a waiting list, or I could spill for more upscale lessons. It is astonishing and unJapanese that single-person #households are approaching 40%. #Single #men of all ages have a poor #diet, which exacerbates the #lifespan gap with #women. #Loneliness is also a #health hazard. Many men are #widowed, never #married, or their #wives #divorce them, often after the children become independent and the husband is useless around the house after a busy career. Single men, or married men interested in cooking or helping their wives, possibly fearing their wives' pent-up anger, can find #companionship as well as #survival #skills in cooking lessons. Men's classes start from zero; women #cook and #socialize.

@zen_at_nite Whether as #LGBTQ or #neurodifferent, it’s amazing how just being our authentic selves can seem like a major political act. It reminds me of the motivation of gay and queer artists, like Tom of Finland, who shared their visions to raise awareness and sound a call to action.

The most important thing is to live by example and SHOW “them” that we are quietly and disturbingly “normal.” 😁

Things weren't always so bad for women in #AncientGreece. In the #ArchaicAge, they had a little more freedom -- but not as much as women in nearby #Sparta or #Crete...

Women's Occupations in Ancient Greece

In the Archaic Age, young women “were apparently not kept in physical seclusion, and had a reasonable degree of movement” (Blundell, 69) but were still always accompanied by other women, and were #veiled.

As ancient Greece moved into the Athenian age, public institutions (with the exception of some religious ones), “were male-dominated and revolved around characteristically male activities – #politics, #warfare, #athletics and #drinking parties” (Blundell, 76).

The only choices women had were to be #enslaved, #married, become #hetaerae (#prostitutes), or hold “sacred service roles” [#priesthood] (Connelly, 31) – though most religious positions were hereditary or reserved for the wealthy.

But after that, women’s domain was pretty much limited to the household where “they were entirely responsible for the production of textiles” (Blundell, 71) and food preparation. The only time women could leave the home was to perform religious activities.
