Sam D<p>After spending not quite a week with the Seeed Meshtastic Credit Card client, the limitations of this form factor have become quite clear to me. Small antenna makes it much better at “hearing” than “being heard.”<br><br>Example. I was in Tulsa this weekend and they have a very robust network compared to wichita/sedgwick county. They had a meetup and talk about on channel 0 (open broadcast channel) and the traffic was actually so high that my little transmitter couldn’t be heard by the broader network. I could monitor the traffic pretty easily, but I couldn’t cut through myself.<br><br>It’s an excellent widget to carry around in your bag, but the range is limited and it’s no substitute for something a little more built out. Happy I have it though. I think next I’ll be building out a home station from some parts I have laying around. <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a></p>

Lokale routering van berichten gaat een stuk beter. Waar ik met m’n tijdelijk beperkte setup zo’n 10-15% slagingskans had om een bericht te verzenden op <a href="https://gts.kalf.org/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> is dat met <a href="https://gts.kalf.org/tags/meshcore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MeshCore</span></a> gestegen naar een 80%+.<br><br>Lokale flooding en routen over repeaters is een stuk beter. Door de functies duidelijk te scheiden dat clients niet routeren laat de repeaters beter hun werk doen en bereiken we grotere afstanden.</p>
