Mom and Dad Peacock are on their way to a well-deserved cruise around the Caribbean tonight, and although they had some airline hiccups getting there, it all worked out in the end. So while I'm thinking of it: THREE GOOD THINGS™️!

🛳️ They made it to the ship, and they're excited as little kids.

🏋🏻‍♂️ Had a great Chest Day Is The Best Day!

🌱 Paneer pakoras? Don't mind if I do.

Remember to breathe, clear your head, and take a moment to be #thankful.

I saw this quote about being yourself, uncompromosing, like a tree. Because would you criticise a tree for it producing the wrong fruit?

I appreciate these flowers for all its small details. I don't question it. Just take it as it is.

Maybe we can do that with each other more. With ourselves too.

A lot of what people are calling #FOMO is actually something else.

When you go to bed and within 5 seconds of not falling asleep you grab your phone for some light entertainment, thats not fear of missing out!

Its FOT - fear of thinking.

You fear that thinking will make you feel sad about the world and your part in it.

#mindfulness doesn't teach you to stop thinking. It teaches you to stop fearing your thoughts, to stop judging your emotions and to turn your negative feelings into positive actions.
Empowerment is the only antidot for powerlessness.

Miss out on the distractions and concentrate on solutions.

Taking a moment to re-center, standing outside on a lovely day, looking at flowers and blue sky.

Now is all we really have.

We deserve every moment of peace and calm. We give way too much attention to both the past and the future.

This doesn't absolve us from doing the work to make things better, or to ignore the very real problems.

But anticipation never made the bad stuff any less.

Understand, prepare, and prevent, but live now. Today. For and with the people around you.

Today's "I'm laid off and bored" project.

Figured a torii gate for my desk would be really nice. So why spend $10 and buy one when I could 1) Pinch the skin between my thumb and finger between a hammer and chisel. 2) Make a mess everywhere. 3) Aggravate my lower back pain by bending over chiseling. 4) Realize how much of a pain in the ass cutting a mortice in a round dowel is.

Thankfully wood filler exists. 🤣
