I've been developing a MQTT GUI client called MQTTy (the name is not very original but I needed the word MQTT in it). That will help me and hopefully help others, to develop, test and debug their IoT applications that utilizes the MQTT protocol.
It's written in Rust, completely free software, licensed under the terms of GPL 3.0 or later versions.
Currently the app does not hit the MVP stage, so there is a lot of work to do to reach it.
Throwing this question out there:
Is it possible to remap MQTT-messages from a certain IP (or user) to another one?
I only find documentation about remapping outgoing topics (bridge)
this is fun - display all incoming MQTT data as a matrix style screensaver

While we are all mad at #bambu for being evil, here is a quality of life improvement for anyone stuck with one of their units. Hopefully it improves your day. (Also, it makes it much easier to get along without their spyware.)
The printers' MQTT broker only accepts a couple of connections. 4 I think. This is an issue if you (for example) use a slicer(1), home assistant(2), xtouch (3), octoprint (4-5), nodered(6+), etc.. And once you use them up, you have to basically turn everything off for a while (up to 12 hours! in my experience) before you can start connecting again.
Using this, any number of clients that use pure MQTT (or handle failures appropriately) can be multiplexed to the printer over a single connection. xTouch, OctoPrint, everything.

Any #Meshtastic folks know of a good guide to setting up an #MQTT broker server? I’m considering running one for #DEFCON
«Besides this, at every three miles on the road there is a little hamlet of about fourteen houses where the couriers live, who carry messages on foot; these men wear a belt round their waists and have a girdle with bells attached to it, that are heard at a long distance; they start at a gallop, quickly accomplishing the three miles and giving the message to the courier who is waiting for it at the next hamlet»

Hot on the heels of #MQTT celebrating 25 years this week, a huge happy 15th birthday to #mosquitto today!
Thanks to @ralight … without your inspired work, MQTT would certainly not be where it is today! :)
Also on #MQTT, the O.G. simple-client messaging standard that has gone from satellites to almost every frickin' open #IoT device on Earth:

:flowfuse: FlowFuse v2.10.0 has been released
This includes the deployment of our #MQTT Broker service on FlowFuse Cloud (support for self hosted users coming in next release)
As part of the initial release this is available to Enterprise Teams and includes 20 MQTT clients (more available soon)
#Mosquitto #mqtt is used nearly everywhere in the world. This is a map of installed locations for the snap package (which isn't even the most popular installation method). Used in 171 territories and only a very small amount of grey, where it is not used
@andypiper But I presume you had a link to said blog post?
Something strange if your text was just:
"New blog post - today is the 25th birthday of #MQTT! One of the technology projects I was involved with back at IBM, and afterwards."
You must be on some watch list you bad fecker.
@dick_turpin it said "New blog post - today is the 25th birthday of #MQTT! One of the technology projects I was involved with back at IBM, and afterwards." - offensive and spammy right! then had a reply from a former co-worker commenting that they were at the celebration today. Mr FB said NO, and removed it.
Great blog post from @andypiper on this special day for #mqtt.
I thought he was going to mention that when he left IBM we presented him with a t-shirt that said "MQTT is the answer...." and on the back "... now what is the question?!" :)
What perfect timing for @mqtt to show up here in the Fediverse :) #MQTT
Thank you, @andypiper for doing this for us!
