It may be worth recalling that in the second half of 1944 there were three major campaigns on land that #uk forces were engaged in - North West Europe, Italy and Burma - now #myanmar . South Asian soldiers were predominantly involved in the latter two and African soldiers in the last. Focussing on the first campaign at the expense of the 'dday dodgers' in Italy and the 'forgotten army' in Burma has the consequence - presumably unintended - of aiding such 'whitewashing'.
