Bobbing Boat<p>Canals follow the topography. They turn and wind. When boaters misjudge a turn, they have to put the engine in reverse to avoid "touching" the bank. (Surely not ME!)</p><p>Especially when there's an audience, it's tempting to try to rev your way through what's become a multi-point turn.</p><p>But there's no fast way out. A 17-tonne boat accelerates slowly. Bobbing Boat<p>Had a look at the winding hole, which is about 6 boat lengths ahead.</p><p>It's lined in concrete. I could see where boats have scraped and chipped away at it.
