#negotiations

The future of #peace #negotiations between #Russia, #Ukraine and #US is sabotaged from the start by #Putin's choice of delegation. Sending Sergey #Beseda - #FSB general behind false intel fueling #invasion - and Grigory #Karasin - architect of military authorization - signals clear intent to stall.

No real #dialogue possible with delegates who embody hostility toward Ukraine. Talks seem set to fail by deliberate #Russian design.

Within hours of the #US call for a full #ceasefire, the #russian #dictator responded with a large-scale attack on multiple regions of #Ukraine, targeting civilian infrastructure, homes, and healthcare facilities—terrorizing cities in an assault that lasted into the early hours.

#putin has made it clear that he seeks only to prolong this #war. The world cannot allow him to dictate the terms of #peace.

What to do if bullying? Try consistent boundaries

1. do not writhe or waver. (Movement attracts the bully)
2. do not attempt to appease. (Any offer is interpreted as weakness and obtains thrust)
3. flee to a safe position that you could hold with support
4. then stand still. Set limits on how others treat you. Affirm boundaries (The bully will redirect attacks eventually)
5. connect: turn to a trusted person, reach out only to someone you feel well about
6. offer backing, foster, become accomplice, enjoy

After #negotiations have stalled for weeks, #strike appears imminent for frustrated union workers at #KingSoopers #grocerystore chain in #Colorado. Mgmt has accused Kim Cordova, president of the United Food and Commercial #Workers Local 7, of bargaining in bad faith

The #UFCW is still in contract negotiations with #Albertsons, which owns #Safeway.

She sees two reasons for this: the temporality of #earlymodern #peacecongresses (#negotiations could last between a few weeks & years) & the lack of a centre, which at courts was the prince, so that procedures, ceremonies etc had to be agreed upon anew for each congress. This is one of the reasons why especially the #WestphalianPeaceCongress took so long. There was no generally accepted precedence, thus one had first to negotiate how to negotiate. For the later congresses it was a bit easier, here #Westphalia was used as an example – however, not always as a positive one, but also, as a way how not to do it. (4/6)
