Będzie wysyp fajnych maszyn dla Linuksa. Nie wyrzucaj, reinstaluj i używaj dalej.
To pójście ekosystemu Windows w stronę ekosystemu Androida. Producenci nie dostarczają nowej wersji OS, więc musisz kupić nowy telefon.
Jakimś dziwnym sposobem autorzy innych dystrybucji Android potrafią dostarczyć na te telefony nowe wersje. Przykładem LineageOs i wiele jego pochodnych, w tym mój ulubiony /e/Os.

Microsoft pozazdrościł producentom telefonów i próbuje tego samego z pecetami. Wyrzucić 3-letni fajny sprzęt i kupić nowy? Niedoczekanie.

Pamiętaj, kilkuletnie maszyny, czy to telefon, laptop czy blaszak, świetnie działają, można je naprawić, rozbudować, wymienić baterie, dodać ram czy szybszy dysk. Czy przeinstalować system operacyjny.

Sam na co dzień pracuję na laptopie, który ma ładnych kilka lat, dołożoną pamięć, nowy dysk, stację dokującą i 2 dodatkowe monitory. To samo telefony i tablety (mam ich kilka, ze względu na pracę). Drugi, zapasowy ThinkPad jest jeszcze starszy i świetnie działa (oba na linuksie). Podobnie serwer w domowym labie to starsza, świetna maszyna.

Nie daj się robić w balona.

Really digging the efficient minimalism that is evident in only 2 years of ASUS improvements. This is the cover of the Quick Start Guide (the only manual included) and, okay, aside from a dumb amount of trees used for trailing disclaimers, legal jargon, and warning you against eating the lithium button battery... aside from that stuff that nobody EVER reads (that they're probably legally obliged to have there), this page is the only diagram you have of the board as a whole and where to put things. There are a couple of more specific guides for how to attach the more complicated plugs, sockets, and peripherals inside, but no more than 6 pages TOTAL. It's mostly clear IKEA-level diagrams and as little text as possible. The last build had CHAPTERS of pages for this stuff. They've really cut the fat, and I heartily applaud them for it. So clean! Main diagram ON THE GLOSSY COVER = GENIUS. Need more detail? Scan a QR code. Top marks, ASUS.

Oh goodness, I saved the water I swished out the blender with after pureeing the fermented chillies (just tap water), used some in the eggplant chickpea dish last night, and the rest went into a small jar in the fridge.

It is vigorously fermenting, even though it is in the fridge! Oh my!

I want to keep it as it so good! Plus #NoWaste. What to do? Perhaps I can freeze in an icecube tray? Maybe some salt will do the trick?

My neighbor asked me for a clock in a special format for her office, and now it's done.

More stones using a technique i learned from @/blompling on IG. I always re-use plastic wrap from shipping waste (or from my vegetables at the grocery store), though. I figure if it gets my paper a little dirty, that just gives it more character!

My last pieces of maple wood were used to make the furniture in our bathroom. The whole set includes seven pieces. Take a look .

Part 1: Preparing the wood. I cut it into smaller pieces and planed them to the same thickness.

I took the scraps from my last project and glued them together. Then, I cut out a circle (20 cm radius) , drilled small indentations, and highlighted them with black paint.

We have to do better as a society. I know some stores now donate their unsold food, and that is great - but it needs to happen everywhere.

My first exposure to this wasn't with food, but with winter hats and scarves. One of my jobs in high school was in a retail chain. At the end of the season, we were told to cut up the scarves, toques, and mitts that were left before throwing them out so that people couldn't dig them out of the dumpster and use them. I couldn't believe it! I was raised not to waste things, yet here I was, cutting up perfectly good things that could have been donated and used by someone who needed them. I was disgusted.

Dzisiaj w wiejskiej naprawialni przywróciłem do życia stary (ale jary) UPS marki APC. Wyrzucony na śmietnik!

Wystarczył nowy akumulator 12V/7Ah za 40zł.

Dodałem "ficzer": dodatkowe wyprowadzenie krótkiego kabla zakończonego gniazdem w "polskim" standardzie (do podpięcia czajnika elektrycznego ).

Myślę, że posłuży kilka lat jeszcze co najmniej i przeżyje niejeden tani akumulator żelowy.

P.S. Jeśli leżą wam gdzieś niepotrzebne, nieużywane stare #UPS-y, to chętnie przyjmiemy do naszej wiejskiej naprawialni i przekażemy komu trzeba. Problemów tutaj na wsi z zanikami zasilania jest ogrom. A podczas ostatnich wichur to aż do przesady. Buduje się też mała wiejska amatorska serwerownia / country lab / hackerspejs. Tym bardziej potrzebujemy zasilania

Isn't it amazing? You just put all your food waste into a pile, leave it for a couple of years and you end up with something rich and friable, ready to help you grow more. I can't see a trace of coffee grounds, tea leaves, banana skins kale stalks or cauliflower stems in this.

I never get over this miracle.

I just transplanted little broccoli plants into this rich mixture.
