From the editorial of the new #PCI #Psychology (doi.org/10.31234/osf.io/m456e_):

> "The barrier to expanding the list of PCI-Friendly journals is not us. We are happy to work
with any reputable journal that is willing to work with us. Rather, the barrier is the for-profit
publishing industry, academic societies, and researchers’ own investment in the current system. The barrier is the unwillingness to give up control, the unwillingness to move from a system of closely-held power by the few to a more distributed system of power among the many.“

Hear, hear!

I fully support PCI Psych. As explained in my personal reviewing policy (nicebread.de/posts/reviewing_p), I will devote my reviewing and editing contributions nearly exclusively to diamond #OA and community-driven publication initiatives.

@reverseics Classical @NanoRaptor #Shitposting aside: This is technically possible even outside #S100, #ISA & #PCI buses.

If I had more money than sense I would've build something similar to #sgi's #NumaLink-based systems with the #UltraStation.

I will look this up eventually, but has anyone done any research on PCIDSS and the iFrame requirements for third party e-commerce integration? I seem to remember - exclusive of PCI - that iFrame vulnerabilities were rampant and fairly trivial to exploit, but I don't remember because I haven't seen an iFrame in like 10 years!

@dreid

Despite the #NIST guidance, which I've quoted often, I believe the #PCI (credit cards) spec still requires product password rotation, so auditors still ding businesses that handle credit card numbers if they don't.

That might have changed though. I don't have reference handy.

Like the required training videos you can't skip or speed click through. There are laws mandating so many "hours" of training, so they can't comply and let you skip.

When i refurbed the ancient Xeon PC a few years ago, i pulled out its existing WiFi card because it didn't have FreeBSD drivers, and accidentally bought the wrong-sort-of-connector new one. I'm tidying up and giving these away. Hopefully together.

On the left the boxed as new and unused ASUS PCE-N10 which i think is PCI-E, and on the right the reclaimed-from-the-pc Netgear WG311v3 which i think is PCI.

Free if you pay postage.

Boost for reach.

We're very excited with @devivijay to officially launch #PeerCommunityInOrganizationStudies next week the latest born #openscience initiative from #PCI @pciorgstudies

Want to take it up a notch? Well, you can also refuse to publish in #Elsevier journals (e.g. #Cell #TheLancet, #TREE), reducing their capacity to #profit off #AcademicPublishing and of giving money to the #FossilFuel industry. Thankfully, tons of diamond open access alternatives now exist to allow you to publish your peer-reviewed research for free and #OpenAccess, like the #PeerCommunityJournal: peercommunityjournal.org/ 4/n

#introduction

I didn't come here to ditch Twitter like most. I came here because I am currently starting my career in #infosec and the community that showed up here seemed most interesting.

I'm a life long #geek. I've been in #informationtechnology my entire professional career. Mostly as a network/system administrator. I recently took over #Security & #PCI compliance at my current employer.

I am a #horror fan, #fantasy fan, #gearhead, #tinkerer, & #maker. I collect #classiccars, #cigars, #vinyl, #tools, #and anything else my #ADHD decides to #hyperfocus on. I recent got into #3Dprinting, I brew #kombucha, and I practice #yoga and #meditation to help in my quest to figure out what #spirituality really means to me.
