With the Sept 9th release of linux-firmware we should have all the bits upstream for rtl8723cs wireless and bluetooth so they work out of the box with kernel v6.10+. This will allow the original #pine64 #pinephone #pinephone #pinetab to just work with WiFi/BT!

Does anyone still having a working #Pine64 #PineTab ? It's technically still supported by @mobian, but not on modern kernels. If I had one, I could work on getting support for it back, but @PINE64 doesn't sell them anymore.

I'm looking for a not-very-expensive tablet to use as a "feature-rich reader".
Requirements:
- Cheaper than iPad
- Bloat-free and updatable
- 9"-10"

So vendor android is unacceptable, iPad is too expensive, and I ended up with something from aliexpress with #lineageos support, but it seems that the only actual device is Pixel Tablet, which is rather expensive and I don't need such a screen, camera, and all.

So now I'm really thinking about #pinetab from #pine64 with waydroid.

How mad does this sound?

@ex3mpted got me thinking about the Pine Tab 2.

Does anyone have any experience with it? Really interested in hearing about how people are using it before I pull the trigger on getting one.

#Pine64 has caught my attention with the PineTab and upcoming PineTab 2. I was also looking at a Pinebook Pro today, and for a ~$200 laptop, it looks pretty interesting. Would love to hear from anyone who has had a chance to play with one of these.
