I figured it was time to write a weblog post breaking down the political and illogical farce of Trudeau's executive actions on firearms these last few years.
You probably won't see many posts like this from the far left, but as the saying goes: "When you go far enough left, you get your guns back."
Oh yeah, I should put a link instead of spending all of my time writing an alt-text on that free Tornado spud-gun advert that doesn't even link anywhere.

It’s #NationalBatteryDay, and naturally, that brings to mind potatoes! Or at least it does if you’ve ever made a potato battery – which was the inspiration for our video about that classic science project and its etymological connections.

Happy #NationalPotatoLoversDay, everyone! As a YouTuber, I’m always ready to celebrate another tuber – and in fact, a few years ago, I made a whole video about the potato, and its effect on world history. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdPQ8zFUipw
Driveway #potato is working out well. I have a whole vegetable garden in what used to be car parking now.

Europeans were suspicious when potatoes reached the continent. Some called these strange things that grew in the ground the "Devil's Apple" and associated them with the supernatural and demons.
The Aristocracy wouldn't eat them. They were dirty. They were food for animals and lowly folk.

The potato is the world's 3rd most produced food crop after rice and wheat. Some 375 million tons are produced annually.
China is the world's largest producer, followed by India.
Here's a UN infographic about them.

things I learned while writing about potatoes yesterday:
- I knew there were a lot of varieties but I didn't know it was in the thousands. About 5,000 or so.
- the potato, of course, was originally cultivated in the Andes, there's a 12,000 acre "Potato Park" in Peru to conserve potato biodiversity and indigenous knowledge of that diversity. here's an interesting piece on that. https://www.boell.de/en/2016/01/25/potato-park-peru
