I figured it was time to write a weblog post breaking down the political and illogical farce of Trudeau's executive actions on firearms these last few years.

You probably won't see many posts like this from the far left, but as the saying goes: "When you go far enough left, you get your guns back."

Oh yeah, I should put a link instead of spending all of my time writing an alt-text on that free Tornado spud-gun advert that doesn't even link anywhere.

Europeans were suspicious when potatoes reached the continent. Some called these strange things that grew in the ground the "Devil's Apple" and associated them with the supernatural and demons.

The Aristocracy wouldn't eat them. They were dirty. They were food for animals and lowly folk.

things I learned while writing about potatoes yesterday:
- I knew there were a lot of varieties but I didn't know it was in the thousands. About 5,000 or so.

- the potato, of course, was originally cultivated in the Andes, there's a 12,000 acre "Potato Park" in Peru to conserve potato biodiversity and indigenous knowledge of that diversity. here's an interesting piece on that. boell.de/en/2016/01/25/potato-
