When I was 14 or so, Dad called me into the living room. "I have something for you to listen to," he said, and then he put on this record. The swell of "Roundabout" filled the room.

I wasn't sure I liked it. I tried to be polite about it; I never liked to disappoint my dad. But I think he was a little let down.

A couple of weeks later, I made up for the disappointment when he "caught" me copying his record to a cassette so that I could listen to it while I walked home from school.

I'm having a whole lot of feelings about taking on (sorting, pruning, etc.) my parents' record collection but the only one I have about this particular album is "Yes! YES! it's mine, it's finally mine!!"

Last night I watched a Finnish #film called (in English) After Us, the Flood.
It brings together climate change, tech bro hubris, toxic masculinity, generational trauma, class, time travel, and nerdiness about #progrock.
So folk sharing my corner of the fediverse might like it, I thought.

Spotify has decided that today is the day on which I would like to hear a playlist of '70/80's prog rock. Now playing, Supertramp. Recently; Focus, Strawbs, Steve Hackett, Rick Wakeman, Camel, Jethro Tull... next up: The Alan Parsons Project. I'll be here all day, folks.

Coming soon on #SUJukebox #Progrock
