Getting back to the #IBM PS/2 model 30 repair, I have some troubles with the Alps 720KB disk drive. I am trying to follow certain signals (the motor does not spin), but having a schematics would ease things a lot. #repair #PS2 #retrocomputing #retrorepair #floppy #alps

It's time to take care of a PS2 Fat with 28! games, some of them I've never seen before, and boxed Wii with 5 games. 
Finally got game artwork set up in OPL on my #PS2. Just had to download and unpack this, then copy it over to the right place on the PS2's hard drive:

Not as effortless as the loaders on the Wii, but not terribly hard either.

Sooooo.... Watching some Cold Case steaming through the PS3 now, as I need to charge the controllers, and my USB cables are too short for me to play while they are connected.
Unfortunately, the PS3 controllers can't be charged with a normal USB charger. For some reason they need to be connected to the PS3 while it's on... So yeah, if the system needs to be on anyway, best use it to watch something. 
Owwww and... I hooked up the PS2 to the HDMI converter, and I hooked that up to the switch and... It works!
There's no fancy upscaling in my converter, it was too cheap for that. But hey, it works, so now I can use the PS2 on the big telly.
The CSI game was apparently still in the drive, so when I tried it, that's what the PS2 loaded up...

Wow, already the 25th anniversary of the Playstation 2 this year. I didn’t or better say my parents haven’t bought the PS2 at release, because at this time I wasn’t so much into videogaming 
But I bought it years later and really enjoyed some games, like God of War and Need for Speed Underground on it.
