Day Use X Mockin' Uh
My speakers on my computer suck and I can't take it anymore.

I'm gonna buy a head unit, two 16x9s and two speaker boxes to go with them, and an amp, with intention to eventually add a subwoofer at some point. I'm gonna power all of this with a regular ATX power supply, and I'm gonna turn that on and off by running the green wire and one of the black wires to a toggle switch.

I've done everything I just said, or something similar enough, before; I need suggestions for everything else.

How should I mount all of this?

I already have a comically large ammo can and there's a military surplus store here that undoubtedly has more, if that helps. The only problem with the one I have is not with the overall volume; it's that it's tall and skinny, which is almost certainly not what I need. Most of the things I just mentioned wouldn't fit if only because the dimensions are wrong, like I just said. I need anything that could be exposed if I didn't care, enclosed, so that my cat can't get to it if nothing else.

I could just use junction boxes and actual conduit, and also just go ahead and use that for the rest of my cable management that I keep swearing I'll get around to someday (lol), but AFAIK, there's probably no way to do that cheaply. Please correct me if I'm wrong about that because I would love to be.

Thoughts?

#askfedi #rant
