Though I chopped it into 6 tracks, it was written and recorded as one long song that just kept getting bigger and bigger. I originally envisioned it as a 10 minute song- but I kept feeling that the story had other places to go before it reached a conclusion. Thus it ended up being over 30 minutes long! This caused some weirdness in #reaper that hampered production somewhat. Nevertheless, doing it that way made it particularly easy to flow from one mood and tone to the next.

@catsalad @Tattooed_Mummy @_L1vY_ I am a proud #chilihead and I endorse this message 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I have a variety of spicy #pepper flakes that I sprinkle on pizza (and many other foods). There are some good mixes out there that let you dial in both the heat and flavor. Carolina #Reaper flakes are the hottest I’ve encountered. I recently had flakes from my daughter’s home grown Madame Jeanette peppers (see chart) and those were very tasty!

Reaching out into the fediverse for some job offers...

I'm currently searching for some freelance work as a musician, music producer, composer, video editor or content creation. Proficient with Reaper, Davinci Resolve, but other DAWs or video editors as well.

I've been working with media software for almost 30 years and after 2 decades of working as a teacher I find myself academically underqualified to keep those positions, so until that changes I will accept any freelance work that make good use of my skills.

If you have something or know someone, please drop me a line. Thanks!

Friday nights, I step away from #Reaper and spend a couple of hours in #Renoise. I'm spending that time as an exercise to learn the app and get reacquainted with trackers. Tonight was figuring out and getting comfortable with automating plugin parameters.

Drums are all samples. Instruments are four instance of #Vital with patches I put together for this track. This in unmixed and inherently unfinished. It is an exercise, jammed out in around three hours.

I appreciate the company #cockos - makers of the audio software #daw #Reaper (among other things).

As a company they're very small, but have ALWAYS stuck to their mandate. All their products are free or effectively free (optional licence purchases).

They also REALLY listen to the community - which almost entirely steers the bus when it comes to what bugs to fix and what new features to implement.

They're just really fair, and that is a rarity these days.

OK so this is a lazy #linuxaudio question, I could spend all day searching, reading and trying things out - but I hope someone can give me a quick answer.

I was well versed in linux audio a few years ago, but got tired of the maintenance, and now I'm out of date, and have forgotten a lot.

I'm setting up a laptop (HP elitebook whiskylake era) to use as a synthesiser live. I need midi and audio in and out and low midi to audio latency.

I will be using reaper and u-he diva, mostly. The system is the latest Linux Mint.

The actual question is:

Do I still need jack? 1 or 2? Or is there now something simpler? Do I need a midi patchbay? What's the best one these days. I used to use catia/claudia, which were ok in intent, but rather a fuss to use.

I have a lowlatency kernel installed, do I also need to do any system config to give audio maximum priority?

BIG WOKE SOCKS: THE GAME [UST]
ARROWHEAD

gotta be honest, repurposed this from a song for another beatemup that never happened called Baghead. actually vaguely similar of a concept tbh.

both mcs are stereotypical pricks of people who are somehow on the good side of things, even though they frankly couldn't care less whether they're right or wrong

should i make a big woke socks hashtag? i maybe should make a big woke socks hashtag. itll help organize things
