Emeritus Prof Christopher May<p>The debate about <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/OFSTED" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OFSTED</span></a> is already developing into a false opposition.... the choice is not between <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/inspection" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>inspection</span></a> and no inspections, as many on the right seem to be claiming.</p><p>The question is how can inspection be made more humane... no <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/teacher" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>teacher</span></a> I know thinks they should be unaccountable or un-inspected, but they have the absolute right to reject a brutal regime that is based on reducing <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/teaching" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>teaching</span></a> to a set of data points to then discipline teachers... </p><p><a href="https://zirk.us/tags/reformOFTSTEDnow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>reformOFTSTEDnow</span></a>!</p>
