Wen<p>Remembrance swim 32 of 61</p><p>Stichill Linn</p><p>A delightful trail run of 5k (round) with a dip and a waterfall in the middle. We had run/swum this many times, spring, summer and winter. You have to do a lot of laps to get the distance in the water, but it is very refreshing on a hot day and the run is under a fine canopy and cool with it. Wen<p>Remembrance swim 30 of 61</p><p>The Tweed by Yair</p><p>A little different from pur last swim here. Water lower, but on the positive side much much warmer (there was snow on the banks last time). Wen<p>Remembrance swim 28 of 61</p><p>Teviot by Hornshole Bridge</p><p>We ran down the river path to the swim - water so still it was an easy swim back up river. Then back via the old railway path. Wen<p>Morning chore</p><p>The dug was asked to help move some beasts from one field to another 1k away down the old railway track. So he was picked up and disappeared off with his dad. The pair of them got off the quad and rounded up the stragglers from the corners of a very large field, hopped back on and didn’t lift another paw for the duration. Wen<p>Remembrance swim 27 of 61</p><p>Portmore</p><p>Lovely swim and a 5k run around the reservoir. Wen<p>All his own work</p><p>The dug had been in the car for 90 minutes this afternoon, so we got out for an hour and cut through the farm where he occasionally ‘works’ (on the promise of a quad bike ride). He knows the sheep and they him. We then took the op to do the 14k 370m elevation run from Byrness to Spithope Bothy loop. It brightened up a wee bit on the way back. Wen<p>Evening run</p><p>8.5 k road run, dry and fast. On the way back we passed the ‘beach’ and retrieved a traffic cone that is now deposited in the recycling bin. Undiscovered Scotland<p>205 years ago today. The Union Chain Bridge over the River Tweed upstream from Berwick-upon-Tweed opened to traffic on 26 July 1820. At the time it was the world's longest iron suspension bridge. Wen<p>Remembrance swim 18 of 61</p><p>Branxholme Easter Loch</p><p>Another quiet swim. Perfect for a skinny dip and convenient for a run along paths in a nearby wood. 2 lengths of the loch (about 1.5k) and 8k of cushioned tracks through the wood. I love the ‘bench’ which has been here since before we first swam it. Wen<p>Remembrance swim 17 of 61</p><p>St Mary's Loch (not to be confused with the Loch of the Lowes).</p><p>A run along the side of the loch, and then a swim by the sailing club. Very enjoyable and it was different to be able to use the buoys as landmarks to allow long circuits to be swum. Amiable temperatures, 9k run and 1.5k swim. Wen<p>Remembrance swim 16 of 61</p><p>An unnamed lochan near Selkirk.</p><p>Not terribly inspiring, but nice and close and on my list. There is a story to the choice (see last photo). Shallowish but a pleasant swim if a little close to the A7. It was however far enough away for me to decide that I would not scare any drivers skinny dipping.
