Sarah Arnold<p>It's completely normal to spot a dead shieldbug when refuelling your car and scrape it off the tarmac and pop it on the back seat so you can ID it when you get home, right? In this case, mottled shieldbug Rhaphigaster nebulosa, which I think is a new "tick" for me (to use birder terminology) - wanted to see one so I had a reference point to compare with brown marmorated stinkbug. LionelB<p>Hot today and insects were scurrying to the underside of leaves when I appeared. Matt<p>Look at these tiny little guys I found in the garden! I was tidying up a bit of bramble and they were living on a bit of the plant I'd cut off, so I took the leaf to a safe patch of bramble after I'd got some photos.</p><p>I think they're freshly emerged Common Green Shieldbug</p><p>Taken with an MPE-65 5x magnification canon lens, which I have on loan.
