Someone has made a snowman using a mailbox. The snow is stacked around the mailbox, black stones and a carrot have been added to make a slightly frowning face, and the mailbox door has been left open to make it look like the snowman is sticking out his tongue and that his "mouth" is wide open. Sticks have been inserted in the side to look like his arms; they are sticking out and up a bit, as if to startle someone walking past.

In Japan snowmen are known as 'yuki daruma' (ゆきだるま), named after the round little dolls (modeled on Bodhidharma, the Buddhist monk who transmitted Zen to China).

Where I live in the Midwestern USA, there's a large #snowstorm outside today. It's a deep but wet snow, making it perfect for packing into snowballs and sculptures. I think I found some inspiration here…
