Valen RESISTS<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@mbrdev" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>mbrdev</span></a></span> I think you're asking the wrong question. It's not about the distro. It's about what window manager you want to use. The big ones are: <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/KDEPlasma" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KDEPlasma</span></a> (what I like), <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/GNOME" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GNOME</span></a>, and <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/cinnamon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cinnamon</span></a>. Smaller ones (but still good) include <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/XFCE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>XFCE</span></a>, <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/MATE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MATE</span></a>, <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/LXDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LXDE</span></a>, and <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/LXQT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LXQT</span></a>. Then there are the people who want a tiling window manager like <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/i3" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>i3</span></a> or <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/sway" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sway</span></a>. Any of these could work on your preferred distro. </p><p>Maybe you should start a poll.</p>
50+ Music<p>"Wild Horses" is a song by the English rock band <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/theRollingStones" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>theRollingStones</span></a>. It was first released in 1970 by <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/theFlyingBurritoBrothers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>theFlyingBurritoBrothers</span></a>, as the Rolling Stones did not consider their demo of the song to be worth recording fully. I tried all kind of combinations of xdg-desktop-portals but finally settled on "simply" starting a gnome-session and starting 'xdg-desktop-portal -rv' afterward to get whatever I was missing to enable the OpenURI endpoint (or whatever the magic is). <br>It works now, I spend too much time on that digging the interwebs without anything to show for it. I hope enlightenment will be in my future but for now I can get stuff done.
