I really think that chipmunks are fantastic little animals. I'm not sure why, maybe because of how cute they are. I found this one on a trail near Lake Tahoe.
I like the background in this image. I chose a wide aperture for this image to blur the background that happened to be a large redwood. I just thought that the contrast between big and small was fitting for this.

I've been missing my sister.

She was supposed to visit me in Europe, but then had another kid, and hasn't. Kid turned out sorta cute, but it poops a lot.

This is from when I visited her in Tahoe, almost a year ago. Being so far from family can be rough sometimes, especially around holidays.

At 22:15 Friday a #weather station at 2650 m elevation west of Lake #Tahoe recorded a credible wind gust of 306 km/h.

Sustained wind was 195 km/h - equivalent to a category 3 hurricane.

The jet stream is roaring right over Tahoe tonight with the tallest mountains reaching up into it. That plus the force of air being squeezed over the mountains is producing extreme winds.
