However I don't think that we can reform the market system in a way that will prevent this from happening again. I think that as long as we use a money based system, people will find ways to accumulate it, as well as use it to subvert any laws we enact to prevent it. That's how we got here in the first place. It would only be making things a little better for a little while.

But even if we could do that, our troubles are deeper than that. Because we have long been capable of producing a much higher standard of living for everyone, but continuing to use a scarcity-based economic system, not only have we been simply keeping most people poorer than they need to be, but we have been wasting massive amounts of resources in doing so, resulting in the environmental degradation we are seeing the results of everywhere. We have to ditch the outdated system that is creating artificial scarcity by its very nature and employ a modern, scientific system that was designed for this very problem, that has both sustainability and efficiency built right in. Howard Scott's Technocracy is such a system: https://www.technate.org/tiki-index.php?page=IB28
The result would be no more environmental degradation (by whatever countries use this anyway), no rich or poor classes, a much higher standard of living for everyone, very little work needed to produce that standard of living, and much more.
#Technocracy #Technate

You need to change the rules of the game so that better behaviour is allowed to thrive, and then we can let scientists and engineers do what they were trained to do. The best system I've found for that was devised by a team of top engineers, scientists and other experts of various fields called The Technical Alliance, and they called their system Technocracy, long before it's meaning was changed to what you may know it as now. They picked it because it means "rule by skill", in other words, get the politicians and business people out of the way and let the experts just do their thing of making people's lives better. Anyone familiar with what Technocracy (www.technate.org) has been saying for nearly a century would say that this was inevitable, without adopting a non-monetary economic system like Technocracy. The opportunity for changing course is closing fast. Democracy has proven unable to stop this kind of power grab, as we were warned it would be. Both this article and the Political Compass show that this is happening around the world, not just in the US. It is just the nature of the monetary Price System.
#technocracy #technate

Luckily, both of these are possible in North America (and possibly elsewhere) by using Technocracy: https://www.technate.org/tiki-index.php?page=Begin
The added benefit of this is that it also makes political government unnecessary, thus removing the other primary tool for removing people's rights. By comparison, in Technocracy, people's rights would be an objective part of how the system functions, built-in at the highest level. Any violation of such would be like a vital part of your car's engine being broken.
#technocracy #technate #SocialJustice

Murdoc Addams 🧛🏻:ri: 🇨🇦
Why is Technocracy important to me? Here's a list:
1) First, as a fan of science and technology, the idea of a system that is entirely based on hard science (as opposed to the so-called "political science"), and uses technology to its fullest extent to improve people's lives is a huge plus. Also, it's just such a well designed system. Once you've learned all the parts, and see how they work together, it's a beautiful thing, like an expertly designed machine.

2) Second, I hate politics. Thankfully, in Technocracy there is no politics, or politicians. No rich, privileged, or other elite running things however they like. Decisions are divided in the objective and the subjective. The former are driven by facts, logic, and science. The latter are left to the individual to decide for themselves. This makes Technocracy more free than any democracy that has ever existed.

3) Technocracy also has protection for the environment built-in at the most fundamental level, as seen in Technocracy's stated goal: "To provide each citizen with the highest standard of living possible, for the longest period possible." Technocracy was one of the earliest movements promoting environmentalism.

4) That part of the previously stated goal about "providing each citizen with the highest standard of living" means that everyone gets taken care of. Full consuming privileges from birth to death (somewhat akin to a "guaranteed income"), free education, and free health care. Because I believe that people are at their best and are most able to contribute to society when they are given proper care and support.

4a) I know such a life would certainly benefit me personally.

5) Technocracy treats everyone equally, simply because science does not recognize any need to do otherwise. People are only judged by their capacity to do a job, and even then only for determining their qualification for that job. Nothing else matters, like your sex, gender, race, religion, etc. Technocracy was promoting racial and gender equality 100 years ago.

2/-

#Technocracy #technate #AlternativeEconomics #ClimateCrisis #environmentalism #equality #SystemicRacism #SystemicSexism #UBI #PostScarcity

Murdoc Addams 🧛🏻:ri: 🇨🇦
This is the first Appendix to my Introduction. A good way to get to know me is to know what's important to me, and with these I'll introduce those topics and projects that are. They'll remain as pinned posts on my profile so I can refer people to them should the topic ever come up.

The first and most important thing in my life is something called Technocracy. Most likely you haven't heard of it before, and if by some chance you have, what I am talking about here is most likely not related at all to what you've heard before. So what is it exactly? Keeping in mind that it is a topic large enough that it is normally taught in a study course, and any less than that risks what might be called "Blind Men and the Elephant Syndrome", in short Technocracy is a proposal for a sustainable, post-scarcity economic system.

To describe how it works, the shortest description would be "Technocracy is a system where machines do all the work people don't want to do." This is of course a big oversimplification, but it gets the essential point across, and that is that our society has reached a point, technologically speaking, where most work is obsolete. And our continued attempts to maintain an economic system that requires human labor is not only holding us back from a better future, but is indeed making things worse. That is why an essential part of Technocracy is to separate a person's labor from their ability to consume. Only by doing this can we let machines do what they do best, and free the rest of us to pursue better lives for everyone. As for how exactly it accomplishes this, there's more to it than can be put in any social media post. Anyone interested in learning more can visit www.technate.org and/or talk to me about it. I'll also be posting more about it from time to time here.

1/-

#Technocracy #technate #SpecialInterest #PostScarcity #AlternativeEconomics #introduction
