#Transport for #London (TfL) has had its greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), in line with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C limit. For the first time, #TfL has set targets across all areas of its business, aiming for a 90% emissions reduction by 2030.

TfL is transitioning to zero-emission vehicles, including over 1,900 of London’s 9,000 buses, and improving energy efficiency across its estate, with plans for solar farms and LED lighting. It aims to source 100% of its electricity from renewables by 2030.

TfL is also reducing carbon in construction, targeting low-carbon materials and emission-free deliveries by 2030. These efforts support London’s goal of becoming a carbon-neutral capital by 2030. The SBTi’s validation confirms TfL’s leadership in climate action.

This does not surprise me. Poor battery quality seems to plague e-bikes with after market kits (and others). BUT there is a failure in relation of the sellers - Amazon and Ebay sell this risky shit all the time with no come back. Maybe they should be forced to take responsibility - and that includes criminal liability.

Yes - privatisation seldom works in public transporation. While bus and rail privatisation didn't work. The exception was the non-privatised #tfl (Transport for London) which was an embarrassing success.

TfL's most recent rail extensions and all buses are operated on a hybrid model. TfL define the service ticketing, branding etc and private companies operate the trains and buses. If they underperform they are replaced by another.

The TfL boss has now moved to National Rail so we can expect Great British Rail to operate the same hybrid model.

You can get the best of both worlds.

#TfL stations with TfL ticket machines where you can collect pre-paid National Rail tickets

TfL stations allowing pre-paid National Rail ticket collection from ticket machines include those on the Elizabeth Line and London Overground, such as Abbey Wood, Stratford, and Paddington. Not all stations support this due to ticket machines being linked to different systems; machines on the Tube network, like those at Canada Water, are not connected to the National Rail system.

🆕 blog! “Singing the TfL Blues”

I am a regular user of Transport for London's services. On my phone I have the TfL Go app for finding my way around the city, and a web shortcut to a specific bus stop so I can find my way home.

Why are they different shades of blue⁉️⁉️⁉️

TfL, like most large organisations, have brand guidelines. It enables them to set a consistent look and feel across their services whic…

No Overground (Windrush) today. Insted of 10 trains/hour we got 2 Southern. They reduced the service to just 4 carriages per train. Predictable pandemonium.

The doors wouldn't open at first at LBG becsuse of people pressing against the doors. Here's the less overcrowded return to SYD/VIC.

TfL could have run a CP to LBG service or Southern could have put on the full 10 carriages. Muppets!

Mobile coverage on the Elizabeth line is now complete, with #TfL and Boldyn Networks providing 4G connectivity across all tunnels. Passengers can stay connected throughout their journey. Coverage is also expanding on the #London Underground, with the Bakerloo line tunnels going live soon. The rollout involves all four mobile operators, enhancing safety, staff communication, and supporting the future Emergency Services Network (ESN).

#Transport for #London:
Children’s artwork encouraging #TfL passengers to give up their seats for those in need is now on display across the network. The posters are the result of a competition aimed at making transport more inclusive, supporting TfL’s Equity in Motion plan. On International Day of Persons with #Disabilities, TfL also announces the extension of the Access DLR trial, offering staff assistance to passengers, until April.
