The spinoff from "The Office" has a name, and a premiere date. "The Paper," will star Domhnall Gleeson as the publisher of a historic but struggling newspaper in Toledo, Ohio. Oscar Nuñez will reprise his role as Oscar Martinez from "The Office," and the mockumentary-style show will premiere in September. “It’s a fruitful premise. There’s a tremendous history for local papers. The villain here is the internet and the ability to look at everybody’s news for free, and all the ad revenue going to Google,” says showrunner Greg Daniels. Here's more from @THR. Will you tune in?

🎵 Oh the spring time thinks that it’s the best, and fall time thinks that it’s the best.
Cold time has, kind of a strut, and Valentines thinks that it’s the best.
But gather ‘round peeps, I’ll tell you the truth;
Nothing beats the cookie season, that’s the truth! 🍪

That's what was in my head. From The Office where Kevin Malone is kind of rapping about how much he loves Girl Scout Cookie season.

It's wild how the mind works.

In around 1900, Skagway, Alaska, was home to a bar called The Office.

And its proprietor was none other than my namesake, Sam Roberts (no relation as far as I know).

What a fitting image to receive as I move to a new office — the first that's not in my home — so thank you David Butler for spotting the transom lettering.

For those that want one, a print of a scan of the postcard that this comes from is available here: ebay.com/itm/313907633450.

One of the weirdest things that occur in #TheOffice communities are discussions about whether character 𝑥 is *actually* a bad person.

The whole point of the show is that most of the people in it are flawed and that's where the comedy flows from. Even the straight man/audience surrogate characters like Jim and Pam sometimes do something inappropriate.

There isn't anything planned this weekend, which is fine with me. Cold and sunny weather is predicted, so I can't complain. It will probably be more of the usual. Clean house, martinis by the fire on Saturday night, and a scorpion bowl while watching #TheOffice (American) on Sunday night. I admit to being pretty done with The Office at this point, halfway through season 5. It's funny but it doesn't feel like it has anything new to say. But my wife still loves it.
