StratoCatAerostar established a new record with one of their Thunderhead balloons being aloft for 200 days and counting. Mission HBAL676 launched on March 28 from the firm's winter Lodge in Santa Fe County, is still floating 60 kft above the Pacific Ocean. StratoCatHBAL684 made a guest apparition over the LA area yesterday. Today this balloon marked for the second time in a month a new endurance record for <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Aerostar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Aerostar</a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Thunderhead" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Thunderhead</a> balloons completing 156 days aloft since she was launched from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Indiantown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Indiantown</a> (FL) on April 22. However, the top current record for the company is held by HBAL676 launched from Santa Fe County (NM) on March 28. It has been 181 days in flight. StratoCatHBAL676, one of the six Aerostar Thunderhead balloons that have been floating above the Great Plains during the last weeks, clearly have a particular interest on the supercell that is sweeping across the western part of the Dakotas. That particular balloon was the one that a few months ago transmitted live images of the journey. MelisondraI was in the mood to read today and I made progress on <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Thunderhead" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Thunderhead</a> by Neal Shusterman which I am <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/reading" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#reading</a> with a friend and started <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/TressOfTheEmeraldSea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#TressOfTheEmeraldSea</a> by <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/BrandonSanderson" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#BrandonSanderson</a>, the first of the four secret novels being released this year. I received my digital copy but am still waiting for my physical one from the Kickstarter. I can't wait until it arrives and I can place it on my bookshelf!
