Still playing with the colors and doing monochromatic studies. This one separates really nicely when painting.
I also did some mixes too, to see how it reacts.

But honestly most fun was to paint this fun "hair" on the bird, which I painted without using white or masking fluid.
And I'm super happy how it turned out. Everything else comes just second.

This overview shows 30 small watercolor paintings in Polaroid style, depicting landscapes in various colors and moods. The motifs range from meadows, mountains, rivers, and beaches to deserts, forests, and icy regions. Some images feature realistic nature scenes, while others include fantastical elements like a massive stone arch or planets in the sky. In the lower right corner, there is a signature with the initials "JW." The paintings are arranged in five rows and six columns.

Just like digital art is not easier than traditional art (I find it the other way round for instance). Would you say writing a book on word and not by hand is cheating? Bfr. If technical, frame by frame, apparent complexity was the only goal of art, we would have stopped long ago... Being realistic stopped being the goal long ago, if it were ever the sole goal (spoiler alert: no)

This is a commissioned watercolor painting I finished last week. It is a birthday present to celebrate the dog's second birthday that is coming up in May. The dog's name is ZhuangZhuang.
I also added bee wings to the picture as requested.

This is a colorful watercolor painting of a bigger sized dog that is panting and sitting on the grass. The dog has longer fur, its stomach, muzzle, the tip of the tail and paws are white, it has orange dotted eyebrows and legs, most of the leg areas are orange and the rest is mostly black. I have also added two bee wings to the dog. The dog is looking straight to the viewer. On the upper side of the painting it says: "For ZhuangZhuang's birthday"

¡Qué rápido pasa el tiempo! ya ha pasado marzo, y me he acordado de que el año pasado hice un cartel con la programación musical del bar Plan 9 de Murcia, donde realizan eventos y pinchadas de música en vinilo todos los fines de semana.
En el momento de realizarlo estaba aprendiendo muchas cosas sobre el arte modernista del s. XIX y sobre el diseño gráfico de las Arts and Crafts y esa voluntad y cariño por las artes manuales y artesanas. Además de que la estética Art Nouveau me encanta, y si se mezcla con el rollito psicodélico queda bien guapota.

El cartel está completamente hecho a mano, con una posterior digitalización. Los materiales empleados fueron rotuladores con base de alcohol, rotuladores con base de agua, lejía, rotuladores calibrados de colores, algún lápiz de color, y pasteles.

La verdad es que me sentí muy satisfecha con mi creación y con todo el trabajo que me costó hacerlo, así que me apetecía enseñároslo.

Cartel con la programación de marzo de 2024 de un bar llamado "Plan 9" que se encuentra en Murcia. El cartel está hecho completamente a mano y tiene una estética que mezcla el estilo modernista con un poco de psicodelia. El texto, escrito también a mano, se encuentra en dos columnas sobre un fondo blanco. El día de cada evento está en color naranja/rojizo, y el evento en sí en color azul. Rodeando al texto hay un marco de color azul oscuro con adornos tipo "Art Nouveau" de colores rosas y verdes vibrantes. En la parte superior del cartel pone, con letras estilo "Art Nouveau" de colores naranjas/rojizos y con textura avejentada, "Plan 9 · Marzo". En la esquina inferior derecha hay una media luna que tiene una cara apacible de perfil, con tonos naranjas y rosáceos. Las texturas están conseguidas con rotuladores, lejía, lápices de colores y pasteles.
