Hey I'm still looking for work.
I've applied to a lot of places in my area and I'm getting nothing.

I'm a programmer at heart, but I've also been looking for regular entry-level jobs because there haven't been any coding positions open at my level as far as I could tell.

If you can offer me a job, it might save my butt. And if you can't offer me a job, could you at least share this post?

I live 30 minutes away from Bellevue if that helps.

For anyone knowledgeable in recruitment, referrals, or even you know a place/person hiring in the IT industry for a System Administrator, IT Support, Helpdesk, or any entry level role feel free to reach out.

Primarily seeking fully remote, locally based in Michigan, Washington state, or If any anyone is knowledgeable of potential companies residing in an EU Union country (Germany, Nordic, Dutch, Ireland, Finland, etc) that is offering sponsorships for talent please feel free to reach out. 🙏🙏

As well for any locals of MI reading, this post includes ANY full-time position as I am currently unemployed in job search hell.

Reposts are appreciated and thanks in advance for any assistance. ❤️ 🙏

Day four: 🍻🍺 vs 🎓💰

While some issues are being discussed, one isnt HECS DEBT. We can talk about having a beer with the Prime ministerial candidates but not EDUCATION costs and spiralling debt.

While we’re at it. UNEMPLOYED? Has the living allowance been raised? At all, does it match inflation? Is it below the poverty line?

Today's "I'm laid off and bored" project.

Figured a torii gate for my desk would be really nice. So why spend $10 and buy one when I could 1) Pinch the skin between my thumb and finger between a hammer and chisel. 2) Make a mess everywhere. 3) Aggravate my lower back pain by bending over chiseling. 4) Realize how much of a pain in the ass cutting a mortice in a round dowel is.

Thankfully wood filler exists. 🤣

Good News -- Elon Musk cannot fire you.

1st, follow the chain of command. - That is important.

Something I have been following on Meta (Facebook) is there are government employees who were supposedly "fired" by DOGE, and ignored the comment. They kept going to work. And they're still getting paid, for going to work.

Additionally, there is a growing number of government employees who took the "you're fired" at face value, and now are finding out they cannot collect unemployment, because they're told they quit their jobs. Some have successfully appealed that, others no so lucky.

Elon Musk and his so-called DOGE agency were not passed by Congress, and many of these jobs they're trying to impose oversight, were passed by Congress.

Do not assume you have been laid off or fired, even if DOGE claims otherwise.

There's so much rant about the unemployment benefits and universal income. People claim it's some kind of weird shit that shouldn't exist, because people won't #work anymore.

You know why people won't work anymore? Because they are tired barely scraping by, slaving their asses off on a 40 hour job and the best they can afford is rent and MAYBE just MAYBE healthcare.

Imagine the dystopia: working class people are going to see their co-workers much more than their own children.

I have been #unemployed since June this year and my work schedule has extended to 7 days a week instead. At least now I can manage to do chores and cook HEALTHY meals for myself and wife, I have started a YouTube channel, I am teaching guitar at a local music school AND doing freelance work on the side.

Please tell me again how people are going to stop working.

Everything that universal income is going to do is that employers will need to stop exploiting people for fuck's sake, in order to make their jobs attractive again.

And some billionaires are probably lose some billions, boohoo, what a tragedy.

This is extremely scary and risky... (and i don't even hate generative AI), under pressure "human oversight" will approve recommendations from an LLM to get rid of the backlog of claims....
“There’s no AI [written decisions] that are going out without having human interaction and that human review,” Sewell said. “We can get decisions out quicker so that it actually helps the claimant.”
