There was a large police presence, which isn't unusual for Calgary protests, but there were a lot of areas, including sidewalks, closed to pedestrians, with the cops on horseback hanging around nearby (also not unusual - the CPS loves bringing in their horses to break up protests).
Also spotted: a drone hovering over the Fairmont Palliser hotel, which was totally sealed off in front with fencing and security guards.
