Just moved over from scholar.social, so I suppose a new #introduction is in order. I'm a #computerscience professor at #Drexel university. Mostly I work in programming languages and logic, but lately I've been branching out into aspects of #linguistics that dovetail nicely with that background, namely formal #syntax and compositional #semantics (mostly categorial #grammars), applied to software specifications.
I have other interests besides #linguistics, including #coffee, #tea, #programming (I am a CS prof...); running #linux and #freebsd; reading sci-fi (currently struggling through the new German translation of Dune as a ~B1/2 German speaker), fantasy, and history/sociology books; and learning new languages for questionable reasons (currently learning French so I can read some never-translated #automata theory papers from the 1970s)
