As spring turns to summer, the new releases are ramping up - these are just a few recent non-fiction titles to hit the shelves.

From political biography to ancient history, from former NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to Gertrude Stein to a history of ancient Iraq, to the Beatles, and the latest paperback from a very dear friend of ours, the Rev Richard Holloway.

And crisps! (that's potato chips to US readers!). Yes! A history of crisps!!

Just finished Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow, which of course was the inspiration for the hit Broadway show. Truly a fascinating life, where sometimes fact is stranger than fiction. It makes one wonder what might have happened had Hamilton's life not been cut short.

This quote stood out to me:

"His faith in Americans never quite matched his faith in America itself." It was like he had a crystal ball.
