Must say the digital nomad life has never appealed to me. Sounds like more work than is ideal, and I like having a permanent base where I know the locals and understand the culture. I can see how it might work for a limited period though.

Moose Jaw to Winnipeg today - 6.5 hours driving plus breaks.

Pretty strong and consistent wind out of the north, kept me on my toes for almost the whole drive.

Not to mention a mud flap coming loose and dragging at one point... it's not a long distance road trip without roadside repairs 😂

Stopping here for a few nights to rest, then onward to Thunder Bay.

After a night in Jasper, the absolutely stunning drive down the Icefields Parkway to Banff, a night in Lake Louise, and a half day drive out of the mountains, we are now in Drumheller, AB for a couple of days.

The Icefields Parkway was just mind blowing. Absolutely one of the most scenic drives I've done.

I'm really loving it here in Burnaby. It's been cloudy and rainy almost every day, but the temperatures are fairly mild, and the rain is light enough that it's not bothersome to be outside in it.

The Central Valley Greenway - a hiking and biking path that follows the Brunette river - is literally right at my doorstep. Took the dogs for a half hour walk along the river this morning.

I've been taking it fairly easy the last couple of days. Still kinda tired, but slowly recovering from the drive.

Not sure what I'll get up to this weekend. I've got some chores to catch up on, but I might take the pups for a drive to higher altitudes to find some snow.

Beau, my GSD, hasn't seen snow in years, since we started RVing. Zoe, my Husky, has only seen snow one time for about 5 minutes.

Most to the point, I'm happy to learn anything we'll need to know, doing the #DigitalNomad #VanLife thing around Europe, as a queer nonbinary couple with Canadian passports and a dog.

Kiddo has 2 years of high school left, it's time for us to stop with "it'd be nice" and start making concrete plans towards it.

'Lastly, starting last year, it launched a "work from #Ollolai" program for #digitalnomad s. So far four Americans have been hosted in fully equipped dwellings for a symbolic one euro. In return, they had to create something for the community, like an artwork or book.'

molto bello. La Sardegna ha creato una tentazione

Tentatively planning to get back on the road and head south next weekend... we're headed back to Vegas - which seems to have become our winter home - but we're going a different route this year to see new things.

The biggest stop on our way down will be Grand Canyon National Park. Super excited for that :D

I travel around the world creating pieces inspired by the breathtaking landscapes I visit. Here are two recently handmade creations inspired by the Norwegian northern lights (aurora) and a Norwegian history piece inspired by what I personally call "Oreo mountains", stunning black white snow, rocks and black sand mountains of Norway, and those two nature images were taken by my brother and I on our trip.

Those are available on my Etsy shop:

I'm spending October in California (doing a little digital nomad thing I guess) and I'm pretty much decided I'm going to drive (x-c from MA)...

...I'd been thinking I was going to sprint across the country as fast as I can, but now I'm realizing... maybe not?

Maybe I should take some time and do it a little more leisurely, stop and see people on the way... 🤔 🚗

Dunno yet. Musing.
