Apparently, after trying unsuccessfully twice to reach an outcrop 15 m higher, #Perseverance has called it quits and returned to its planned route to the south.

Its next stop may be some outcrops at 350m and 400m SE from its present location, a distance the rover can cover in just one or two sols, if it doesn't get distracted by something interesting in between.

The maps were drawn using #QGIS with imagery and DTMs from #HiRISE and #USGS and data from #MMGIS

That name, Witch Hazel Hill, was quite fitting, after all. Here is her witchcraft spherulite hat. Or, is this Gandalf's hat?

#Perseverance moved to a new location close by. The image shows my prediction for its next target (ellipse).

EDIT: Updated map, but it looks like it needs some CRS work after my recent change to the new #HiRise imagery.

A pair of SUPERCAM images in a pseudo-3D setting for cross-eyed viewing. The small parallax doesn't offer much of 3D depth.

The little 1.5cm pebble is about 2.8m from the camera (2m horizontal distance), yet another of those #JezeroBrightRocks that #Perseverance keeps a record of.
