It is not a famous target, so it is not often photographed, and there is not much information about it. It's close to the Rosette Nebula so you can find it in the Monoceros constellation. I find it to be very cool. Don't ya?
#Astrophoto preview #LBN 728.
I shot the #nebulae LBN 728 and LBN 729 recently. I am still fighting heavy internal reflections but found the #solutions to fix the #imagetrain and the #processing of the existing data.

I found the “sister” of M33. Her name, NGC2403. They are pretty much alike. Have more or less the same size, shape, and they both feature a very big nebula: NGC604 in M33 and NGC2404 in the sister galaxy. Though, they got mad of each other, and now they are millions of l-y appart.

Phew! My gosh! This has been the faintest narrowband deep sky object I’ve ever taken so far. SH2-224 is a SN remnant in the constellation of Auriga. Beautiful thing indeed!

M42 (Great Orion Nebula), M43 (de Mairan's) and the Running Man Nebulae
Couldn't resist a super-clear moonless night on Wednesday. So I shot an old well-known classic, HDR of 1s, 30s and 180s subs totalling 6.25hr data to preserve both highlights (Trapezium cluster) and the vast swathes of dust and veins of dark nebulae.

100 years ago on this day, November 23, 1924, Edwin Hubble, then a thirty-five-year-old astronomer, had his findings first published in The New York Times, that there are distant stellar systems, that is, other “Island Universes”, beyond our own.
