Finally stopped overthinking this one.

MIDI Controlled Pocket Operator?
Getting some lunchtime me time in.
Now that I’ve gotten a few REM cycles, I’ve started processing tracks again.
Just realized that I want to control 2 midi devices out of my EP-1320’s single midi port, and that this is a problem. I could buy a midi splitter and three 1/8 inch to midi adapters, but I’m really hoping that being on 1/8 inch means I can just use a headphone splitter? Does anybody know?
As a designer and appreciator of art, I am enamored with the products that Teenage Engineering are designing. I seriously load their site and drool.
But they’re also usable in meaningful ways. Functional, sleek, simple…reminiscent of the work of Dieter Rams.
As a musician, I also want to play.
Listen to this great #pocketoperator track!
The PO-Office really is underrated.

Teenage Engineering will probably keep me hyped until the end of the Anthropocene.
“The world's first medieval electronic instrument”

Instead of ambient music, Designtide Tokyo played sounds of scraping stones and clattering objects — interruptions that prompted visitors to pause, look and listen at exhibitions again, transforming the act of seeing into a deliberate choice. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/life/2024/12/11/style-design/designtide-tokyo-teenage-engineering/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #life #styledesign #designtidetokyo #teenageengineering #design
Hello! My #TeenageEngineering #OP1 (original) theming tool, op1-glitter, is now public on GitHub!!
It's wildly inefficient and probably has some bugs hiding in there somewhere, but it gets the job done XD
Anyone want to give me $2,300 so I can get the new OP-XY from Teenage Engineering and pretend I'm a musician?
Something coming soon.
@lkngrrr @jimfl the product page for Medieval was unexpectedly surreal and fun https://teenage.engineering/products/ep-1320 #Medieval #TeenageEngineering
Ok, I made a stupid joke.
"Unleash the magic of medieval sounds [with] hurdy gurdys, lutes, gregorian chants, thundering drums, and punishing percussive foley FX."

Teenage Engineering have lost their minds.
"Hurdy gurdys, lutes, Gregorian chants, thundering drums and punishing percussive foley FX. The EP-1320 is the first of its kind:
Featuring a large library of phrases, play ready instruments and one-shot samples from an age where darkness reigned supreme, the instrumentalis electronicum is the ultimate, and only, medieval beat machine."
So, I just wrote a rambling blog post about @playdate after buying one.

So, yeah, that’s a thing.
Impulse buying sampler while on parental leave turned out great! I love sitting down when I have a moment to myself just getting a beat going.
When was a kid learning the guitar, the thing I missed the most was a way to layer bass & drums on whatever I was playing. This machine does that.
I was thinking I would mainly use it when my baby is asleep; turns out she loves dancing to the beats too, so now I can bring it out when she's awake too. Fun times!
Some early thoughts and much love after about a week with my Pocket operator: https://bjoreman.com/diary/2024/2024-02-14.html
