It sounds like an April-fools joke but the eruption I mentioned as imminent on the 1st of April ended after only six hours. I don't remember any volcanic event that was over so quickly. Though I don't think it is unique in any way.
#grindavik est safe pour le moment. Les volcanologues sont très surpris à la fois du temps que l'éruption a mis pour démarrer (grosses séries de séismes vers 6h30 pour un top départ lava à 9h45) et de sa durée puisqu'elle est presque terminée. Cela paraît insensé, sachant que le magma contient près de 40 millions de mètre cube de lave.
Toutefois, on pense qu'il s'agit d'un prélude car le corridor souterrain où circule la lave fait 20km de long et est à une profondeur de 4-5km. C'est un record pour la région !

Jetzt ist aber mal langsam gut. Weiterer Ausbruch bislang negativ. Aber es schwarmbebt jetzt seit bald 12 Stunden. Der Gang scheint im Süden unter Grindavik hindurch zu sein und nicht mehr viel weiter zu wollen, im Norden scheint die Migration Richtung NW ebenfalls erstmal gestoppt, aber es bebt noch heftig. Allerdings in einiger Tiefe >3km), ein Durchbruch scheint noch nicht in Sicht. Bei der Penetranz aber vielleicht nur eine Frage der Zeit. Es träfe unbewohntes Gebiet.

In der letzten Stunde hat es vor allem rund um die Eruption in #Grindavik gebebt, sowie nahe Vogar, wo die letzte Eruption am längsten durchgehalten hatte. Der Kegel von damals entgast aber aktuell nur.

Nein. Die Beben gehen nämlich die ganze Zeit weiter und es gibt offenbar eine ziemlich lange Gangintrusion (11km+), Magma sprengt sich also unterirdisch einen Weg. Wo es dann noch rauskommen könnte, nun ja, überall entlang des Wegs, wenn sich der Druck nicht ausreichend durch die Intrusion abbaut.
#Grindavik jedenfalls kommt vielleicht nochmals mit einem blauen Auge davon.
Quand la lave du jour s'apprête à rejoindre celle du 14 janvier 2024 (la petite faille en bas à gauche et qui a cramé 3 maisons). Au fond au milieu, une serre.
Surprenamment, la première fissure ne s'agrandit plus depuis presque deux heures. Elle fait 700 m de long. On est donc loin des 3-5 km des précédentes. La seconde faille continue sur sa lancée, le tout à moins de 500m du quartier nord-est de Grindavik.
Les autorités envisagent le pire : une autre faille qui s'ouvre en pleine ville...
